Pakistan on 199-0 at tea, Hafeez hits a hundred and Imam on 75, Australian bowlers struggling.

I forgot quite how dull cricket in the UAE is for the first few days. A slow batting friendly, attritional wicket. Obviously by Day 4/5 it turns square. Feels like the toss is super important, not sure whether the stats reflect that.

Agreed. After the drama of this summer, this is terrible ‘entertainment’.

Khawaja too. Open with a middle order batsman and a one day slogger, that's a policy England really could get on board with. Malan and Roy up top, lovely stuff.

A reminder that England would now be 130-5 on this same pitch in this same situation, and that’s if they weren’t still bowling.

5 wickets for Bilal Asif on debut, Australia in deep trouble with an England style collapse.

Meanwhile Mohammed Abbas has taken three four wickets through sheer control. Combined with a few for Siddle earlier, should England be taking Porter to Sri Lanka and just telling him to bowl immaculate L&L?

I know Tim Paine said he wanted to erode Australia's 'win-at-all' culture but I'm not sure this is what he meant....

It's happening again! 87/0 becomes 87/3 with Mohammad Abbas running riot. Aussies literally stuck in the marsh.
Who would have thought batting a man with a batting average of 28 at 4 would work out this badly?
Oh, and the next two men in are on pairs. Noice.

Makes the time he scored billions of runs against England all the more embarrassing.

One big innings, otherwise not very good? It's basically batting Stuart Broad at 4...
