Quotas also potentially having an impact too, with a desire to have around 5 players of colour in the test team, it does leave some guys at risk of not getting a place in the team For the middling ability ones, sure. But the extra outcry over Olivier and Abbott before him (and Roussow before him) was that they were very much in the team and playing when they signed up elsewhere. Talking with a saffer mate of mine, the feeling is that they have a bit more strength in depth on the bowling side than the batting side with the POC's, either way it is shit and in a perfect world both Abbott and Olivier should be playing test cricket and not county cricket. Holder's points on minimum wages very pertinent, if the ICC doesn't act soon it could get uglier than it is now

Karunaratne to be Hampshire's overseas, that's quite a nice signing. Do enjoy seeing an overseas signing that's a bit unusual rather than just the normal "solid Aussie batsman" model

Karunaratne has been replaced by Aiden Markram already, as SLC wanted Karunaratne to play domestic stuff.
