Somerset are the only firm D1 side (i.e. 2+ consecutive years!) I'm struggling to think of a recent D2->D1 signing for, it's a sad state of affairs...
Essex: Coles Hants: Northeast, Donald, Topley Lancs: Jennings, Onions Surrey: Footitt, Borthwick, Stoneman, Clarke Yorkshire: Willey, Kohler-Cadmore
*High chance I've a) Remembered wrongly, b) Missed someone out or c) They transferred from D1->D1*

Hants squad now features 10 different nationalities which is pretty remarkable; 15 Englishmen, 5 South Africans, 2 Scots, 1 Welsh, 1 "Italian", 1 Aussie, 1 West Indian, 1 New Zealander, 1 Zimbabwean and an Afghan. There are premier league football sides with less!
4 overseas, 3 kolpak, 2 uk passports and 1 naturalised

...Vince is going to get a recall isn’t he. 😱 Let's bloody hope not for England's and Hampshire's sake, but at least this time he's the 2nd highest run scorer in D1, rather than averaging 33 like the season he was first called up! But when the highest run scorer is Rory Burns who can either fill the keeping slot or an opening slot like we need, you'd think it'd be a no-brainer... (which means they'll probably pick Vince ) Does the fact it's at the Ageas Bowl make a difference?

Interestingly, I think the last player Somerset signed from D2 may have been Tim Groenewald. Our only recent signing from other counties was Steve Davies (Surrey) and currently looking at Jack Brooks (Yorkshire).
Other than that, it's Devon or Durban.

When Hampshire were 137/7 on Day 1 I was pretty sure they were going to be relegated.
Somehow a day and a half later we lead by 364 with 6 wickets and 2 days remaining. Quite surprising.
Glad to see Vince in form.

The Brighton match still looks like a draw, but credit to the Sussex openers for giving it a go!

Luke Wells scoring at nearly a run a ball. The end is truly nigh.

Kevin Howells definitely just said "Jane Derdback" on TMS which is very amusing considering the subject.
Essex chasing 336 and the spinners are twirling together at Taunton. It's like the good old days of last year.

Except they haven’t got three wickets already.
Moeen Ali, the all-rounder’s all-rounder.

First four wickets in the innings. Ooft.
Not sure what he’s doing bowling the injury-prone Josh Tongue for 7 on the trot though.
