I see the men, not wanting the women or the rugby team to feel silly, are keeping up the theme of the weekend that is the spectacular incompetence of our national sides.

Probably a flat pitch at the Ageas but worth noting Burns has scored this particular hundred against an attack consisting of three international seamers. Decent effort. Ben Foakes likewise. Incidentally I'm supporting Scotland in that match.

Captaining Rory Burns ahead of this game has turned out to be a good call.
Missing the moment to transfer out half my bowling attack who aren't playing, less so.

England quite rare in ODI cricket in that their change bowlers are probably better than their openers. Wood and Willey doesn't quite strike fear into the heart, does it? King Jofra's arrival cannot come soon enough. Burns gone for 151. He might not score enough hundreds but like Root when he does get to a century he inevitably goes on to turn it into a daddy.

Foakes out for 90. Has seemingly scored runs every time he's batted this season but has yet to post a hundred.

Mullaney gone. Notts are 19-3 with Mullaney having scored all the runs so far!

Craig looks as if he's found a yard from somewhere since the winter. Still not particularly fast but the ball is zipping through to Davies behind the stumps nicely.

The Scotland game? It’s going excellently! Unfortunately I think anything under 375 is probably fair game for an English chase.

Essex have lost three wickets for five runs, and Dan Lawrence's poor season continues.

I hear a lot about his wrists, but he doesn’t ever seem to actually play that well...

What's more inept, losing after racing out to a 24-3 lead or conceding 371 to an associate side? England's representative sides doing a fine job at the moment. Says a lot when we're possibly looking to the footballers to restore some national pride...

Good game brewing at Wantage Road, away from the existential crises that England are providing. Leicestershire end up with a slender lead of 13 over Northants. Got the live stream up so I can run the rule over Zak Chappell. Our Lord of Dobell is a big fan.
