6000 kids at the Oval apparently (on comps, but still)
I can only image they'll die of boredom after the first 16.4 overs

List A debut for Tom Banton today at The Oval. Four hundreds in his last four innings, one for the England U19s and three for the Somerset 2nd XI. Nailed on for a golden blob.

49 runs to go, time for a 45-minute lunch break. Oh, cricket.

as much as I love being sat at home 'working' and watching Yorks, I really could take or leave the RLODC, 5 weeks of no red ball cricket in the champo is just wank. Would love the shower to marginalise or sack off this competition, and give red ball stuff a bit more summer time

Oh, cricket. 49 runs, or 40% of their target you can kiiiind of understand, but still a bit silly and a classic not helping yourself, not as mental as some of the examples recently, think there was an Indian ODI recently where they took lunch needing single figs?

I get the feeling that what it adds to players’ one-day games is minimal anyway, with the Blast teaching slogging and constrictive bowling, and the Champo teaching accumulation and how to take wickets. Likewise for spending a day at the cricket/seeing a result, and making money/letting a sporting narrative unfold. Obviously there’s a spectrum, but much like the ODI, the ODC seems like the dispensable format in county cricket.

Absolutely classic England top 3 innings circa 2012-13 here from Pujara. 'Wickets in hand,' 'anchoring the innings,' 'batting through' and all those nostalgic terms. 24 off 42 and I don't think I've ever seen him hit the ball in the air in his life, so it'll be difficult to catch up.

His best shot is the run down to third man for a single. He truly is an Englishman from a bygone era.

That was a bit special from Kohler-Cadmore. Glad i've got him in my Fantasy Team. Following the innings i've noticed a brutal bit in the scoring. If a batsman scores at over a run a ball his runs are doubled but below, they are halved. So if someone scores 100 of 99 balls he gets 200 points for the runs, but if he gets 100 off 101 balls he only gets 50. That's a big difference for two balls.
