The Hundred marketing team will have been firmly hoping Harmanpreet did this sort of thing on the first night of the tournament.

Massive fan of Mollie King referring to 'my boyfriend Stuart' and not explaining why that's relevant.

A top notch first contest I must say! Overseas players particularly huge in the women's games and a lot of good performances from them

Yep, perfect first game stuff. Some creases to work out, but it's decent enough. I liked the count up/count down scoring system, and I liked the double "over" thing a lot. White cards are a bit daft though.

Did the Oval Invincibles know they were allowed to try sign some decent batsmen? Horrible horrible batting line up

Really? Roy, Billings, Jacks, Evans all good players? Narine and Ingram are both faded stars, I think that's the real problem - they've got a great set of overseas circa 2016...
It sounds *a lot* more like a normal T20 today and less like a welcoming family atmosphere. Will be interesting to see what people who were there say about it.

Another good match, more a wall of noise today as you say. OI may be slightly light on batting, but I think there are worse batting line ups, and the bowlers more than compensated tonight.
When it got to 21 off 6 with Carlos on strike I was amazed nobody (on the beeb at least) brought up the world cup final!
Edit: Meant to say something about timings - not sure that actually worked out any quicker than a t20 did it? There was an injury, but I'm sure it was supposedly meant to fit into a smaller tv slot than it takes

Yeah, tbh don't rate Narine and Ingram as like you say faded stars, and when the card first came out with the Currans at 6 and 7 (though they didn't bat there), my mind went....compared to a decent Blast team, that is hella weak

Sam Curran opening is something CSK have tried with reasonable success, he's properly good white ball batsman. Tom is probably a spot too high, but I wonder whether teams think batting depth is a little less important than in T20 due to the reduced number of balls (and having five or more good bowlers is consequently more important)?
One thing that will be genuinely interesting is seeing how the tactics develop.
Edit: Also delighted to see I can change the thread title.

No... Mason... Crane?
Look, what is the point of Shane Warne if he doesn't pick a leggie?

Yup, Now TV going for Moeen Ali and Mason Crane in the thumbnail so you'd think he'd be in as a key man! I guess Nabi and Roelof offer much more 6 hitting ability, but when you've only got 100 balls it's wasted a bit
Great catch by Woody, glad I'm still getting half my share of Hampshire players that made Spirit my second team!
