Adam Ball was the next big thing not so long ago, shame to see him go out like that. Good finds though Humair, will update page 1!

Cam Bancroft is Somerset's incoming overseas, likely to be confirmed at 10am.
Suspect we'll see a bout of overseas player announcements after the IPL Auction at the end of next month. Are Afghan players eligible now they have test status? Would be good to see a few given a gig, and I'd like to see Shai Hope too rather than just the usual parade of Aussie/Saffer mates of mates.

Sad, that is. Clubs don’t get any recompense for players in T20 leagues yet. Needs to change.

I’m sure in the early days they took a percentage of the sale price, don’t think that happens now mind. Can’t blame the players, the money is unparalleled

Given that we've got 5 county matches during the Ipple, all preceding the Pakistan tests, it feels like a real slap in the face. I'm pretty pissed off, fair play he may make some good money out of it, and it's prob going to be one of the few summers when Test and white ball players are potentially going to be available for the whole ipple, and with an utterly packed summer England wise we just are not going to see him in whites for Yorks as come the end of the 5th Indian test he'll be too knackered to lay for us no doubt. :-(

To be fair, if you have an all formats England player, of which there aren’t that many any more, you shouldn’t be expecting them to ply much if at all for their club side. The county are handsomely rewarded and they’re on the England payroll, I imagine Yorkshire’s contact with a Root is ceremonial more than anything else.
I’d be a bit more conflicted on someone like Harry gurney who is on the IPL list despite having a full county contract - or Jofra, or Bopara. Can’t see any of those but Jofra selling but still...

True Nemo, though you still hope to see them for at least a couple of county games at the start of the season to give us some kind of exposure (won't start ranting about Bairstow's rest period at the start of last season or i'll explode)

Looks like Northeast is leaving Kent.
I hope Hampshire sign him. 1) Means we'll have an excellent batsman. 2) It'll wind everyone else up.

Kent lose Northeast in what must be one of the stranger decisions. Hope a prestigious club (not Nottinghamshire) pick him up and thrust him into the selectors’ faces.
Literally. I want him 2cm from James Whittaker’s nose, breathing heavily.
(Beaten by seconds.)
