I'm spending the weekend entertaining the girlfriend, and also my team's several hundred miles away.

In fairness to Angus Robson, his return of 27 50s in 97 innings isn't that bad especially when the team around him has been poor. I can think of numerous players that have worse returns and still manage to maintain a career. Derbyshire could look for the slowest opening partnership ever with Godelman & Robson? Glamorgan may want him as a back up to Selman if he struggles this season too. Competition would be healthy

Impressive day for Lancashire at the Oval. Shiv and Jordan scoring and steadying the ship. Jordan Clark with his maiden ton, great work from him. Still need to get some runs on the board.

A brilliant, brilliant ball from Jofra Archer sent DBD's stumps cartwheeling. This picture captures all the glory.

Headlines from the Mail: Durham begin mammoth task to regain first division status with loss to Nottinghamshire So, have they lost the game already? Well played. I think Daily Mail no longer bother about journalism and team up with a crystal ball instead.

In fairness to the Mail (shudder), they have the editor of Wisden on the staff. MailOnline is more or less a separate entity mind, run out of a content factory staffed by non-journalists, I think quite a few of which are in the US. So yes, County Cricket probably not a strong suit...
Tauton yesterday very pleasant by the way. Impressed by Gregory, Porter (and, away from cricket, Gregory Porter) but Cook looked several classes above. We'll need to get him early today. Ashar Zaidi has put on some timber over the winter and he wasn't svelte to start with...

Unbelievable ball from Kegs to dismiss Ansari. Really majestic. Just take a look at the beauty of a ball.

Hampshire 2nd place and three points off the pace. I hope it lasts! My early impressions are now a Surrey vs Middlesex main title race and Warks down, excellent win for Essex.
Three teams with 2 wins out of 2 in Div 2 and not a single game drawn! Notts and Kent definitely looking like the teams to beat, Durham 90 points off the pace now, in 13 games that's a lot to catch up!

All right all right, don't rub it in. The complete lack of batsmen for Durham is even more stark now.

Northants have apparently won 5 Championship games in a row now!

Slightly less Kolparkshire this week. Edwards and Rossouw out for Topley and Alsop.

Ansari retires, interestingly! I guess a Cambridge degree isn't a bad thing to fall back on...
