Well when I left it was 100 without loss, next time I turn radio on I hear 164 all out. Even though after the 1st morning I thought we would lose, this is still a shock to say the least. Also Cook to blame it on a lack of great spinners is a bit rich, seeing the top order batsman were a lot more to culpable. Is that what he said? What a dick, and what terrible captaincy that is, the spinners won't be feeling great about themselves anyway, so to kick 'em when they're down is pretty stupid in advance of 5 tests in India. To not criticise a top and middle order that has been poor virtually all year as well is a disgrace. Even Cook (poor current run) and Root (multiple failures to convert 50s) need to be looking at themselves. That batting line up get away with bloody murder, it's virtually impossible to get dropped (unless you're a new opener) once in that line up, none of the out and out bats made more than one score in any of their 4 innings and that is w##k

"We didn't bowl great. And yes, their spinners did out-bowl our spinners. We're not hiding behind the fact that we haven't got world-class spinners. It doesn't mean our spinners are bad bowlers. We've got guys who can bowl some really good balls and spells. But we can't quite control well enough at the moment. We don't hold our length and line well enough. We bowl jaffas, but we're easy to knock off strike and we don't build the kind of pressure we'd like."
Half way through a press conference he was asked about the English spinners being outbowled by the Bangladeshis, as a follow up to saying Bangladesh scored 30 runs too many. About the batting he had already said "we just weren't good enough".
But I suppose it makes a nice headline.

Also from Captain Cook:
"You lose a couple of wickets, then men come round the bat and the crowd get into it. Being able to deal with it and get through it is crucial. You know it doesn't last forever, but that half an hour is crucial and we just weren't good enough. We have to learn fast. There's a lot of talent in this team and the experience on this trip will only help us if we take the right things out of it. There's a lot to work on." (On batting)
"We go to India as pretty heavy underdogs, there's no doubt about it. But sometimes English people like being underdogs." (On chances in the next series)
While I do agree that England do not have quality spinners, it is not the only reason that they lost the match. 100/0 to 164/10 is not acceptable, Ali, Batty, Ansari or Rashid will not get into any team just for their bowling but that is what is available to Cook. Even West Indies for god's sake have Bishoo who takes a lot of wickets. He also said that he will count on fast bowlers reversing the ball to get as many wickets as the spinners do. As for the batting line-up, we cannot go from one match to another having a completely different batting line-up or axe a batsman who can potentially come good. It will most likely be Buttler in, Ballance out for the next game. I also want Leach to be called up and Rashid to be sent packing back to Yorkshire, but his 4 wicket haul in the second innings means that he will stay on.

I just like the fact that Pierre though "wank" was worthy of censorship but "dick" wasn't.
Also I like the fact that Bangladesh are finally starting to fulfil some of their Test potential. So, not "just" I guess.

I think I'm gonna go with "Transatlantic"- adj. denoting or referring to an individual whose identity does not conform to specific American or English stereotypes. Edit: Does this mean I also qualify as a transponder?

For those frustrated about lack of quality English spinners, check out the actual best spinner in the world's bowling action. Let us just hope for more of the same:

Having now seen the actual quote from Cook, i'll take back my Dick comment. I stand by my censorship of w##k though.
