And Wood too.
To be honest, I'd be perfectly happy if Anderson never played outside England again (unless we're touring NZ any time soon - it gives him a chance to prolong his career in the conditions he's absolutely unplayable in, and means we can try out other options on the other tours.
Ball is in as cover, think TRJ might be in with a shout too, I think he'd do very nicely on flat decks.

Mark Wood's your man for reverse swing. Stokes too. I'd say Onions could still do that better than any of Anderson's replacements.

Ah blast, Wood's loss is a bigger one (albeit not exactly unexpected). Fair amount of talk during that county match about TRJ on flat pitches... It would certainly be interesting, but over rates would become even more of a problem!

Why else do u have Ansari for. He could be your answer to Sir Ji. Although I will admit having more than 2 pacers is a bit of a waste in the sub-continent especially if u have a good seam-bowling all-rounder which England do.
Simple thing would be to play Broad as the sole seamer and Stokes, Woakes as all-rounders with the latter bowling more and the former batting more.

Not sure if Broad or Woakes will be of much use either. I can see Broad hammering on short-of-a-good-length and being repeatedly dispatched by Kohli already. Woakes does at least have a little bit of extra zip, and form, on his side.
But as you say, the seamers are really only there to give the spinners a rest, unless you've got express pace or reverse swing. In which case may as well ask for Broad to bowl for economy.

Surprise, Surprise, Finn and Ball called up as replacement. Neither can swing or have pace. Excellent selection there from England.

Ball can swing it, just not reverse swing it. Not sure what the truly pacey alternatives are, sadly. Meaker?

Footitt maybe?

I know he does conventional swing but reverse is what you need Not too sure Footitt will provide different angle but think he has fallen out of favour

And back to NZ vs. India - India won the toss and no Kane, given that NZ have done okay.

Jeetan strikes, and Rohit makes 2.
NZ doing quite well.

And again! This time against a proper batsman. Thrilled for him. Warks. in danger of losing their overseas player for part of next season?

I was going to say 300 was going to be more than enough. And Bhuvi proves me right with a beautiful spell to end day 2.

239/7 was looking okay for NZ, 316 ao not so much. Turns out they couldn't even muster 200.
This is going to be how it goes all season isn't it? India bat first, get bowled out for what seems like an okay total, then somebody (I'd imagine the spinners in most cases, Bhuvneshwar today) destroys the other side and that's that. With maybe some slight changes when/if India lose the toss.
Meaning no offence to Sri, or to the Indian team who should of course be trying to win every match, I hope somebody beats them at least once. There haven't even been any rank turners yet.

Pretty much spot on there None taken anyway I think it is all in the mind, the pitches so far have been so good for batting they are practically roads compared to the ones Sa got still think it would take something special/ rain for India to not win. I of course want 13-0, but wouldn't mind if nz won one only if that means we beat England 5-0 and Australia 4-0
