How is it a "u-turn" to assume that the number 1 Test team in the world will win a Test from having their weak (on paper) opponents 117ao, then change my mind when someone hits a 176? That's not "u-turning", that's called "sanity".
Brilliant work from the Lankans, especially (only) Mendis and the spinners. Great win.

It's a u turn Cuz said no.1 team are shit against spin, haven't won in the sub continent for 5 years if my math isn't wrong and expecting them to cruise to victory before even watching them bat.

I didn't say that I expected them to cruise to victory, did I? What I said was that 87/7 was tripe. And it is tripe, on almost any pitch, almost anywhere. And no, Australia can't bat against spin. On the evidence prior to the third innings, Sri Lanka couldn't bat against anything. Pace, spin, they'd probably have managed to implode facing Vince's dobblers or Ballance's "legspin" given enough time and without Mendis' innings-of-the-season. Granted, I did expect Australia to win prior to the match, and more so after the first innings. They didn't, and I'm glad. Kusal Mendis significantly changed my opinion. But you seem to think that's a bad thing. If a few more people were willing to be a bit less stubborn in their opinions, the Internet would be a much friendlier place!

Good win for Sri Lanka, but Australia's weakness against spin comes back to hurt them again.

I don't even object to Australia that much at the moment, they're not currently good/toolish enough for me to get het up about them! Plus they've got Nathan Lyon. Steve Smith needs to punch something or Josh Hazlewood needs to start making disparaging remarks about Joe Root's mother or something.
Am pleased to see Voges' titanic average taking a battering though.

Whenever I feel a bout of this terrible affliction coming on, I just think of Steve Smith standing at slip during The Ashes licking his hands as though they were a bucket of KFC. It's like echinacea for the soul.

Well worth following this Test today. If cricket's number one purpose is to entertain the paying punters, then Sri Lanka are playing Test cricket how it should be paid - er, played. A bit of the Jerome Blackwoods. And it seems to be working thus far.

Great stuff from Sri Lanka, and particularly Dhananjaya Maduranga de Silva! (Short name for a Sri Lankan.) From 26 for 5, to be at 190 for 5 at the second new ball is no mean feat at all. Even against Australia.
