Australia must figure out what is going wrong with them at the moment. The last three games were largely down to their bowling attack. They were not helped by SA preparing featherbeds. But in this game, the batsmen found no answer to the disarming spin and accuracy of SA tweakers, which brings us to the foremost doubt that if indeed Aussies can handle spin. Kudos to SA, they rested their pace guns and still shot Aussies down for a paltry total.
Meanwhile Eng are in a potentially slippery situation against Bangladesh, having lost 5 wickets for just over 100 runs.

Shamsi has been selected for the tour of Australia on back of the performances for the ODI team. Two spinners in the squad but it would be interesting to see if he plays, given that the surfaces are hardly ever conducive for spin bowling, especially in Perth.

Mennie comes in for Hastings for the final ODI as Aussies look to avert a whitewash. Just a peek at the bowling attack will tell you the story of the series: Steyn, Rabada, Abbott, Tahir vs Tremain, Boland, Mennie and Zampa. Rabada has more caps than all three of the Aussie fast bowlers. I still wonder what happened to the likes of Kane Richardson, NCN, Jackson Bird, Pat Cummins, Moises Henriques, Cameron Boyce, Joel Paris and Andrew Tye who were given opportunities earlier.Surely, they cannot do worse, can they?

Moises not a bowler, Coulter-Nile and Cummins injured along with Paris. Boyce probably couldnt do much worse Bird is old and I honestly don't know what's up with Kane or Tye.

Moises would have been a good replacement for Faulkner. He recently scored a century too for NSW. Aus generally play with 2 all-rounders (Mitch and Faulkner) Cummins is not injured. He is also playing for NSW. Bird isn't SO old not even to be in the reckoning, he is 29. Comparatively, Mennie is 27 and Hastings is 30.

Its too late to grumble, as Aussies are on cusp of a whitewash here.

David Warner dismissed for the highest score by an Aussie, run out by Tahir, who sets off in celebration, as the whitewash is nearing. The takeaway from the series is that, scoring 300 in the first innings may not be enough.

That Williamson innings was beautiful. So was that Guptill over, albeit in a slightly different way.
