Somerset v Worcs and Warwks v Essex today. Three of the four finished a CC game less than 24 hours before the start of play, which isn't great scheduling.

And a nine wicket win for the side that didn't play yesterday and have been practicing one day cricket all week. Draw your own conclusions.

Meanwhile Thomas Westley racks up some FEO points. ...oh boy, that's a ripper! One of my best!

I think we need to see some of this fabled drawing now. Do you take requests?

No, but only because I've never had a quest....therefore a request is obviously out.

Basically what I'm saying is that you should draw Moeen Ali's beard slowly becoming independent from his body and eating e.g. Giles Clarke, and we'd all be better off for it.

Deal! As soon as I find myself in a state where marijuana use is legal, I'll be all over it.

On second thought, I just had a vision of this and Moeen's beard ended up being spaghettified in a similar fashion to a body being pulled in to a black hole. And Giles just pulled out a hunk of Parmesan cheese and a grater and....nope y'all are so not ready for my "art".

Not the biggest ODI fan, but I have to say, I thought that both of the games were highly entertaining yesterday. I was able to watch picture-in-picture on my iPad yesterday with Yorkshire-Kent on the ESPN app & Surrey-Northants on the scorecard. It is both fascinating and wonderful to see 2nd division teams giving division 1 a run for their money. On the one hand it makes me think (hope?) the gulf between the divisions is not so wide as we're told to believe, on the other hand it poses other questions in my mind about the direction of cricket and whether this format is detrimental to test cricket.
For instance, it can be argued that a team's 50 over performance cannot be correlated to their test performance and Northant's success/failures in the championship/RoyalLondon seems to justify that position. However, having just watched some truly abysmal fielding during England/Pakistan, can we not correlate T20&ODI are causing shorter attention spans and more unforced errors? I'm not saying any one here is doing that, but on a whole I'd say many cricket fans blame shorter formats for batting, but not fielding. Why? Right? Wrong? Dunno. But if nothing else I find watching these shorter format games quite interesting for my own internal debates....typically finding that I'm a bigot against the shorter formats even when I quite enjoy them.

Great to see Ollie Pope debut today, only just signed his pro contract. Incidentally, that Surrey side has no shortage of wicket-keepers!

Terrible start for Surrey though, pressure on Davies to bat through.
Edit: Fantastic hundred for Davies, hopefully Surrey on for 260-270.

A good win for Surrey. If they can keep their pace attack injury free and 'England selection free', i think they'll be quite a force across all competitions next year. Foottit and Meaker offering right and left arm pace, then the Curran's offering right and left arm swing is a good line up. Add an experienced (bloody annoying really!) off break bowler in Batty and an SLA in Ansari and there isn't much left uncovered. Anyway, hopefully Somerset beat Warks today and then the Surrey attack gets injured for the final...
