Two amazing knocks from two of the most powerful hitters in the women's game.

Good to see my local Southern Vipers doing well.

Go the Vipers! A team I support won something!

A pretty easy win for the Southern Vipers to win the tournament, and I won the fantasy league with Matt coming second.

The Kia Super League started yesterday with the defending champions, Southern Vipers, claiming a very convincing win.
Today, Yorkshire are playing Lancashire with Yorkshire off to a good start.

2018 edition starts today, with a bit more international interest- couple of Indian players (Kaur and Mandhana) playing as well as Attapatu of Sri Lanka.
This time round they're playing games home and away so twice as many games. Hoping to take my wife to a game or two at the Oval to attempt to continue to convert her using feminism...

Mandhana plays a fantastic knock of 48 from 20 balls with 5 massive sixes, while Heather Knight hits 97 to lead her team to the win.

Watches that whole game, very clean hitting from Mandhana. People get fixated on the length of the boundaries in the women's game, but some of her sixes went in to the front row of the stands. I'm smritten.

Seems a shame that they're throwing this all away in 2020 to follow the ECB's S16.4 plans. Hopefully it'll continue to get decent media showing though (inc. on free TV), and the double-headers have meant good crowds for the women's games. Not a great year for the Vipers but looking forward to finals day nevertheless. £5 for 2 games of cricket seemed a steal

Surrey Stars complete a tight 9-run in the semi-final to qualify for the final against Loughborough Lighting later today.

And then completed a much less tight final win, with Lizelle Lee stonking a ton and the Lightning not doing much in the chase. Ended on a bit of a whimper, but the best team won and they played a great game on the day - just in the earlier game!

Good advert for women's cricket with a tight game and then some great hitting. KSL seems to be going very successfully, again a shame they'll be binning it for the 100 ball nonsense

KSL 2019 starts today with a triple header. It's the last in the current format as all progress is being junked in favour of the coming Hundredpocalypse, but there's plenty riding on it as England getting annihilated in the Ashes is sure to lead to changes. Lots of international spots up for grabs, you'd think.
