There will only be one promotion spot in Division Two this year, as the ECB have agreed upon a new structure for county cricket from 2017. Afterwards it'll revert to the standard 2 up, 2 down system. Now, Division One will only consist of 8 teams whereas Division Two will have the remaining 10. Well well well.
Interesting changes. Honestly I don't think we'll miss the 2 CC games, 14 is enough. Every team will play 7 home and 7 away, even if in Div 2 they don't play each other twice.
Two blocks of the T20 seems a reasonable compromise.

Fuck. Off.
I would have said this to any schematic that reduces the amount of First Class at the expense of T20, even if I don't think it's terrible that the first division is having one less team. And of course the Blast gets the primetime summer slot, leading to more rained-off draws and giving more to mediocre medium-paced bowlers.
Cricket changes but Tests stay the same, and I'm sure I'll get used to this in time. But it's never a good change that whittles away first class for pyjama. I'll say it again for good measure, with apologies to any children browsing: Fuck all the Fucking Way Off.

Not sure how to feel about the changes overall but think the division/reduced match changes aren't too bad.
The RLODC starting at the beginning of the season is one of the best changes for me as the one-day competition felt a bit tacked on to the end of a long season. I found it quite difficult to get invested in when muddled among the T20/CC and international matches. I'm happy it'll have its own little slot and will receive more of the limelight.

I wouldn't mind the reduction in County Championship cricket to allow for a more sensible schedule, more rest time and higher quality cricket - in fact I'd support three divisions of seven with 12 games a season for that purpose.
I'd also support doing the one day stuff in a block, flipping between formats is never a good thing for anyone.
That said, this particular solution feels like a compromise that nobody particularly likes, taken to avoid widespread complaints at the more radical change that the top people actually want.
