I'm beyond disgusted with that article, what an appallingly county we are. The racist captain one suspects has oft been named in weather teams. We've had a reputation of being a horribly racist county for years, and things had gone kind of quiet, but not it turns out due to a concerted effort to reduce racist behaviour but by the sounds of it a complicit staff and board.

Despite the concentration of Asian cricketers in Yorkshire, the sole British Asian in the Yorkshire squad is 32 (Rashid) - there are more at Kent. Kent!

I've played Sat league cricket and midweek cricket in S Yorks and Derbyshire on and off for 10 years or so now, and at the higher levels, I reckon at least half of the cricketers are Asian, and would imagine that this is a similar story throughout West Yorkshire too. That Rashid is the only asian cricketer in the Yorks squad is beyond incredible.

It feels like there were a few years where it was working (Rashid, Shahzad, Rafiq, probably others that didn't make it to the top top level) but then it's just stopped altogether- not really just at Yorkshire either. The only British Asian I can remember seeing in recent England U19 squads is Hamidullah Qadri via Derbyshire who is Afghan.

Amir Virdi may have played a couple.....it's certainly not just Yorkshire where Asian players aren't coming through, but given the sheer number of cricket playing Asians in Yorkshire is does make you wonder why they aren't coming through. One quote from the article may give a hint as to one reason, 'There was me, Adil Rashid, Ajmal Shahzad and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. We're walking onto the field and one player said: 'There's too many of you lot. We need to have a word about that.'

Happily Yorkshire are straight in there with a response to...
...Ah.

Not a great look, but it would probably help to remember that the poor guy/woman running the Twitter feed is unlikely to be a committee member or indeed a decision maker of any sort, and doesn't deserve abuse. Insistent requests for a club statement perhaps.

Absolutely doesn’t deserve abuse. Does deserve insistent feedback to the point where they have to report it upwards; and probably could have used a bit of common sense before uploading the tweet above.

A welcome response from Yorks, but proof will be in what comes next. Words are easy actions less so.

Yep, Yorks suck and continue to not handle this racism review very well.

Yorkshire are an absolute fucking disgrace, release the report and do something about it.
