The ECB have unveiled the schedule/team names for the Women's Super League if anyone's interested, pretty exciting step. www.espncricinfo.com/england/content/story/976207.htmlNames from the article: Lancashire Thunder (Lancashire Cricket Board with Partners) Loughborough Lightning (Loughborough University) Southern Vipers (Hampshire Cricket with Partners) Surrey Stars (Surrey County Cricket Club) Western Storm (Somerset County Cricket Club, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, University of Exeter) Yorkshire Diamonds (Yorkshire County Cricket Club)

Vipers is an unusual one, and a Thunder/Lightning rivalry already looks likely.
I'll probably try and go to a few of the Western's games, Bristol and Taunton are both relatively accessible for me and it'd be a reasonable step in my ongoing attempts to get my girlfriend to like cricket (annoyingly, both her parents love the game but didn't manage to pass it on)

Hoping it'll be a success, it's a good move.
In other county news, Notts will be without Peter Siddle for the season due to a stress fracture in his back, bit of a blow. Could be quite worrying for Siddle's future career in general.

LV are no longer the sponsors of the championship, end of the LVCC era. Now it is the Specsavers County Championship, ha.

Did anyone notice there's a Roses match on? In Dubai? No, me neither. But there is: www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/977809.htmlYorkshire 313-"6" with three retired outs, and Lancashire using nine different bowlers. It must be early in pre-season.

Check the text board at the bottom of the forum, Nemo - I'll lay claim to being the first forumite to realise this.

Good to see Gary get some runs early doors! Definitely expecting a big year for him. Lyth needs to get over the England hangover ASAP
